ABOUT PRO BONO PARTNERSHIP OF OHIO
Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio strengthens our community by engaging attorney volunteers to provide nonprofits with free legal services tailored to their business needs.
We envision our community empowered and enhanced by thriving nonprofits and engaged attorney volunteers.
HOW WE DO IT
Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, a nonprofit itself, provides business and transactional legal services to nonprofit social service organizations serving the disadvantaged or enhancing the quality of life in neighborhoods in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas.
PBPO recruits and mobilizes attorneys from major corporations and law firms to donate their time and expertise on behalf of its nonprofit clients, enhancing their ability to improve conditions in their communities.
PBPO assists nonprofit organizations on a broad range of business legal matters, such as:
Compliance with state and federal regulations
Corporate structure and governance
Merger, bankruptcy and dissolution
Tax law and tax exempt status
Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio provides nearly all of its services without charge through the generosity of individual and institutional donors, its experienced legal staff, and the volunteer participation of the broader legal community. PBPO leverages its own limited resources and small staff by recruiting and supervising a corps of volunteer attorneys from corporations and law firms to advise its clients.
We aspire to the highest standards of personal and service excellence for our attorney volunteers, nonprofit clients, and staff.
Meaningful Engagement for Attorneys
We value our attorney volunteers and strive to provide them with a rewarding and impactful volunteer experience.
Improved Communities through Stronger Nonprofits
We are committed to advancing the work of our nonprofit clients to create a positive change in our community.
We believe in the power of partnerships and that we are stronger working together.
Culture of Gratitude
We say “thank you” more often than any other phrase.
