Erin Cunniff Childs, Executive Director
Erin was hired as the Executive Director of Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio when it was founded in 2014. She is responsible for advancing the mission of PBPO and leading the staff and legal programs. Erin sets strategy, recruits volunteer attorneys, promotes client outreach and education, and lectures about nonprofit and tax-exempt organization law.
Prior to joining PBPO, Erin was an attorney with Thompson Hine in Cincinnati. While in private practice, Erin's pro bono work included volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for ProKids. Additionally, Erin is active in the Cincinnati Bar, having serving on the Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Bar Foundation and as former chair of the Young Lawyer's Section. Erin is currently on the executive committee of the Nonprofit Law Committee. Erin graduated from Saint Louis University and received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
Erin believes she has the best job in the world because she gets to work with not only nonprofit professionals who dedicate their lives to their missions, but also extraordinary attorneys volunteering their limited time to be part of the positive change happening in our community.
Marcie Hunnicutt, Dayton Director & Counsel
Marcie Hunnicutt, Dayton Director and Counsel was hired in 2019 to lead our Dayton office. Her focus is on engaging and supervising corporate volunteer attorneys and providing legal assistance to our nonprofit clients.
Prior to PBPO, Marcie worked for Collins Aerospace and local law firms, Thompson Hine and Dinsmore & Shohl, where she practiced corporate and international trade law. She graduated with a B.B.A. in general management from the University of New Mexico and received her J.D.from the University of Dayton School of Law. Marcie is currently a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (C.C.E.P.), a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, an Advisory Board Member on both the Southern Ohio District Export Council (SODEC), as well as the Cintas Institute for Business Ethics Board through Xavier University.
Marcie is a member of the Dayton Bar Association and tutors law students at the University of Dayton School of Law in her spare time.
Anne Luecke, Development Coordinator
Anne Luecke, Development Coordinator for Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, has spent the past 20 years working with nonprofits to strengthen communities and improve the lives of our friends and neighbors. After graduating from Miami University, Anne worked in Washington, D.C., as Senior Policy Analysis for the National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors. There, she worked with Congress, government agencies, and related NGOs to secure funding and create sound policy resulting in better access and care for those suffering from substance use disorders.
Returning home to Cincinnati, Anne began consulting with local nonprofits in the areas of policy creation; fundraising and development; and marketing and messaging. She has had the joy of working with some incredible organizations such as the Human Services Chamber of Hamilton County, Talbert House, and Women Helping Women.
Barkha Patel, Director of Education and Senior Counsel
Barkha Patel, Director of Education and Senior Counsel at Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, focuses on nonprofit-specific legal issues and nonprofit education. Barkha provides direct legal services to nonprofit groups, coordinates and supervises the work of volunteer attorneys, and lectures on legal issues for nonprofits and attorneys.
Prior to joining PBPO, Barkha was an attorney in private practice, returned to graduate business school, and worked for a global performance management company. She is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association Nonprofit Law Practice Group and a Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL) class graduate.
Barkha graduated from the University of Virginia, received her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, and acquired an M.B.A. from Xavier University.
Chasity Paul, Paralegal
Chasity Paul, Paralegal at Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, provides support for PBPO staff.
Prior to joining PBPO, Chasity worked for Procter and Gamble, a small law firm, and also owned a small photography business. Chasity grew up in the Cincinnati area and graduated from the University of Cincinnati.
Chasity believes in PBPO's mission of improving the quality of life of our communities and enjoys working with our clients and attorney volunteers. It is her cheerful voice you will usually hear on the other end of our legal project follow-up messages. Chasity is the PBPO staff member who sends out engagement letters and follows up on open projects.
Veronica Tollefson, Program Coordinator
Veronica Tollefson, Program Coordinator at Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, has a passion for community service and nonprofit work. She began her career in this field by working in refugee resettlement in Baton Rouge, LA at Catholic Charities. Her work and personal volunteer experiences have ranged from HIV/AIDS education at the American Red Cross, grant-writing for Cancer Care of NJ to coordinating a canned food drive and giving tree at her children’s elementary school.
Veronica has a strong belief that nonprofit organizations with solid processes in place are best able to fulfill their mission and serve our community. Veronica graduated from the University of Virginia and received her Master of Public Administration, with a focus on nonprofit organization management, from Seton Hall University in 2000.
Veronica is the PBPO staff member who handles our nonprofit client applications and coordinates our community outreach events.
